~*The Vanished Birds by Simon Jimenez*~

4 out of 5 stars I would like to thank Netgalley and Del Rey Books for allowing me to read this novel in exchange for an honest review.  Nia Imani has spent decades out of time.  It may have been months for her but for everyone else it has been forever. She has watched so many people that she loves age and leave her all alone. Then one day a boy comes into her life and changes everything. She is no longer alone. She has a family.  She must do everything she can to save the boy and keep her little family intact. This was an absolutely beautifully written science fiction novel that has a bit of a fairy tale feel to it. The only reason that I gave it a 4 out of 5 was because the ending felt a little flat.  I absolutely loved the concept of this story,

~*House on Fire by Bonnie Kistler *~

3.5 Stars First  off I would like to thank Netgalley and  Atria Books for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this novel for a fair and honest review. Leigh Huyett and Pete Conley are the perfect couple with the perfect blended family until tragedy strikes leading to the death of fourteen year old Chrissy, Leigh's daughter and the glue that holds the family together.  At first they are told by both Chrissy and Kip that he was behind the wheel but after the funeral and Kip getting arrested for the death of his stepsister he confesses that it was not him driving but instead it was Chrissy behind the wheel. Leigh just doesn't buy the story Kip is telling. There is no way that Chrissy would lie about something so important.  Kip explains that because he was drunk and slightly high, that Chrissy  refused to let him drive. After the accident they changed seats and he took the blame. From there the family completely falls apart. I feel that Bonnie Kistler did...

~*Evidence of the Affair by Taylor Jenkins Reid *~

5 out of 5 stars After reading "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" I knew I wanted to read more by Taylor Jenkins Reid and when one of the booktubers I follow mentioned this I immediately picked it up. I am so glad that I did. This little novella is told entirely through letters between two married couples. When David Mayer gets a  letter from Carrie Alsop informing him that she has found out about an affair between her husband and his wife a friendship grows between them. This was a lovely novel and Carries and David's growing friendship throughout the letters is actually very sweet. I don't really have a lot to say as the novel is short but I would definitely pick this one up. It is free to read on kindle or listen to via audible with kindle unlimited. I chose to listen to the audio version and I think that made the novel even better for me. Pick this one up. You won't be sorry!

~*Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver*~

2.75 Stars The very first novel by Lauren Oliver that I read was "Before I Fall". I fell madly in love with that book, the writing was lyrical and the story was beautiful. Yes, it was a concept that had been done before but the way that Lauren Oliver wrote this book was just perfect in every way. I have since rad "Panic" as well as "Liesel & Po" and "The Spindlers" and I really liked them. However this book had a hard time holding my interest. I started it a while ago and I was having such a hard time getting into it I actually ended up reading two other books before picking this one back up. I really love Lauren Oliver's writing style so really that had nothing to do with it. Nick was a very likable character though Dara was not even in her journal issues she was not likable. I really hated her parts of the story. I also am like many other that found the twist to be a bit obvious. You knew what it was from almost the very start. I really ...

~*Watching You by Lisa Jewell *~

First off I would like to thank Netgalley and Atria Books for allowing me to read an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I have heard of Lisa Jewell but have never read any of her books. Well, that is going to change because I truly enjoyed this novel!  We first meet newlywed Joey shortly after she and her new husband Alfie has moved from Ibiza to Melville Heights to live with her older brother and his pregnant wife Rebecca. Joey finds herself almost immediately attracted to Tom  Fitzwiiliam a middle aged married man whom she first sees with his wife Nicola and son Freddie as they get out of their car. Though ordinary by most standards there is something so charismatic about Tom Joey finds herself crushing on him without even saying a word.  The story switches from three POVs and police interviews after a murder has taken place, flashing back to a few months prior to the crime. Joey's story, Freddie's story and one of Tom  Fitzwi...
