~*The Night Swim by Megan Goldin*~

5 out  of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for allowing me to listen to an advanced copy of The Night Swim in exchange for an honest review. Am I the only one who loves listening to audio books as a way to relax? For me there is nothing more calming then listening to a good audio book and doing other things like crocheting to feel myself completely relax. What makes that even better? When the book is great and the narrators are super awesome!  Bailey Carr; January LaVoy; Samantha Desz are great narrators that really captured the feel of the novel and the mood of the characters.  The actual story was really awesome as well. I read a really good book by Megan Goldin  (The Escape Room) last year and was blown away by it. I have to say I enjoyed The Night Swim a bit more which surprised  me! I think one of the things I liked so much about this is we followed a true crime podcaster as she decided to dedicate her latest season to a rape trial. ...

~*Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid*~

5 out of 5 stars! Another fantastic book by Taylor Jenkins Reid! I love "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" and I loved this book just as much. I really feel that Taylor Jenkins Reid's books read best as audio books and this was the best audio book I have listened to. The cast was phenomenal. Jennifer Beals as Daisy,Pablo Schreiber as Billy and Benjamin Bratt as Graham and  January LaVoy  as Camilla were brilliant but for me Judy Greer really knocked the role of Karen Karen totally out of the park. Karen also happened to be my favorite character. A wonderfully written, addictive and intoxicating novel that tells the story of Daisy Jones & The Six, the rock and roll scene from the 60's. Sex, drugs, rock n roll and of course love and heartbreak. The Six were doing well as a band, a hit here or there, your name on everyone's lips and yet there is something missing. That something is Daisy Jones, a groupie girl with a beautiful rough voice who also happens to...

~*Final Girls by Riley Sager*~

5 out of 5 stars Quincy Carpenter is a member of a very exclusive club, she is a final girl. There are three girls that are members of this club and to be one you must be the lone survivor of a mass murder. Quincy managed to survive the Pine Cottage Killings ten years ago back when she was in college. She thinks she has her life together now, a live in lawyer boyfriend, a successful baking blog and a lovely apartment in NYC. Sure, she also happens to drink too much wine and she depends on Xanax a little bit too much.  The life that Quincy thinks she has starts to fall apart after she finds out that the original Final Girl Lisa is found dead and the only other Final Girl Sam shows up on her doorstep.  I loved this book. It totally read like a horror film. There were many good twists and turns some I completely saw coming and some that did come as a surprise. The biggest weakness was the fact that Quincy was so easily influenced. That is something that I would have expecte...

~*The Friend by Teresa Driscoll*~

5 stars for me! This is the second Teresa Driscoll novel that I have read, the first being " I Am Watching You"  and I really enjoyed this. I listened to it via audio and I enjoyed the narrator, Henrietta Meire's choices. I loved the interpretation of each character. They all distinctly had their own voices. If you are a fan of audio thrillers I would suggest you pick this up.   The story follows several POVs with Sophie being the main POV and the only first person. As the thriller gains momentum we meet more characters but Driscoll manages to not confuse us. We meet sweet, soft and rather quiet Sophie as she is on a train ride hours from home when she gets a message telling her that her 4 year old son Ben who was staying with her friend Emma and Emma's three year old son have all been rushed to the hospital.  From there the story goes back and forth from then to now telling the story of the friendship between Emma and Sophie. Leading us slowly to the truth behin...
