Killingly by Katharine Beutner

5 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and RB Media for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review. Wow. I just have to say that there were times while I was listening to this that I just kind sat there soaking this all in.  The fact that this novel was inspired by the real unsolved disappearance of a student at Mount Holyoke in 1897. This was incredibly asthmeperic. You could picture the school, the grounds and the homes. Most of the main characters were not exactly likable but I think it really serviced this story well. Rachel Botchan was a very good narrator and she held my attention.

The Scottish Ladies Detective Agency by Lydia Travers

4 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this in exchange for a review. I enjoyed this fun and rather funny Victorian mystery. I enjoy a good historical mystery and if it is set in the UK I am predisposed to love it already! Maud and Daisy were a really fun team. One of the things that I really enjoyed about this book is that the ladies were tackling more than one case which is not something you normally see in PI novels very often. Helen McAlpine was a great narrator. Their voices for all of the different characters were very distinct. I totally recommend this.

Wings Once Cursed and Bound by Piper J. Drake

4 1/2 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape media for allowing me to listen to a copy of this in exchange for an honest review. As someone who must have watched the classic film "The Red Shoes" this story was right up my alley! I loved the retelling and I also really enjoyed all of the mythical characters that populated this world.  Bennet and Peeraphan were very interesting lead characters and I was extremely interested in all of the supporting characters. The world building is amazing. Cindy Kay was a very good narrator whom I enjoyed listening to. They reminded me of one of my favorite narrators Cassandra Campbell.

~Death by Chocolate Marshmallow Pie By Sarah Graves

5 out of 5 stars Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review. I have found a new favorite cozy mystery series! This is rather late in the series to discover it but I will be buying all of the books that came out before this. The narrator Susan Boyce was great! I loved Jake and her family and friends. I kind of really like all of Jake's quirks and her past made her more interesting. There is humour in this but it was one of the few cozies that I have read where there felt like some very real stakes here for the characters. I just loved everything about this book!

~Mother of the Bride Murder by Leslie Meier

3.5 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review. I first started reading Lucy Stone mysteries in the late 90's and was always a fan. I will admit that for a bit things were feeling a bit stale but I decided to pick them up again and I am glad I did. I enjoy the fact that Leslie Meier actually allows her characters to age. I also will admit to liking Bill more now that he has loosened up much more. I enjoyed seeing him actually give Lucy some help in her investigation. It was nice to also see Toby help her. I will say that I am a little curious as to where this storyline with Toby is going. The hints about his life in Alaska and the changes he is making have me wondering what will happen in future novels.  Is a trip to Alaska in the future for Lucy and Bill? Anyway, Coleen Marlo did a great job narrating, she was a very good Lucy. I liked the setting of this mystery and the mystery itself was good. I think ...

~ Maid of Dishonor by Gracie Ruth Mitchell

4.75 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to listen to this in exchange for an honest review. "Samantha Quinn: Baseball lover. Plant mama. Eternal friend zone dweller. I know exactly three things: 1) My heart will forever belong to my best friend, Carter. 2) Carter's heart will never belong to me. 3) I will therefore die alone." With those words I knew this was going to be for me. For one, we have friends to lovers, for two we have an incredibly sweet main character and then we have Carter who may be the sweetest, mushiest boy ever! Do I need to say more? If so then I will say that Gracie Ruth Mitchell wrote a sweet romance and the  Eva Wilhelm and Brandon Utah were super adorable narrators.

~The Protégé by Jody Gehrman

3.5 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to listen to this in exchange for an honest review. I kind of had mixed feelings about this. Though I did enjoy this it was not as thrilling as I was hoping it would be. I did feel like there were points where things were heading into a really exciting twist but it never seemed to get there.  I am under the belief that Dr. Hannah Byers is on the spectrum but as someone who is not I can't really say of this is good representation.  I will say that this is an enjoyable way to spend a weekend.

~Said No One Ever Stephanie Eding

5 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to listen to this audio book in exchange for am honest review. This has to be one of the sweetest, cutest romances I have read! I loved every bit of it!  Ellie Reed breaks up with the perfect man (according to her family and friends anyway) and of course she also finds out at the same time that her medical stranscript work from home job is coming to an end. What is a girl to do when she feels she is being judged by her parents for once again not being as amazing as her older sister and trying to postpone the inevitable job of being a nanny for her sister? Well, she decides to go ahead and take the trip to Montana that she and her ex had booked! This leads to all kinds of misadventures including found family, romance and most importantly self discovery.  The writing by Stephanie Eding and the narration by Stephanie Richardson had me laughing and crying

~* Games for Dead Girls by Jen Williams

4.5 out of 5 stars Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for allowing me to listen to an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I have to say that at first I was thinking this was going to be a 3.5 star book but then the story began to go deeper and I knew that this deserved a higher rating.  When Charlie returns to the small coastal town that her family vacationed at when she was younger. Something terrible happened Charlie's last Summer there, something that changed her life forever. Though she thinks she is heading there with her niece for one reason she uncovers a secret in the town, one that may just kill her. The narrator Mhairi Morrison did a wonderful weaving the complexities of Charlie and of course Jen Williams wrote a wonderful book. This a more than meets the eye story that I think you will enjoy.

~*The Soulmate by Salley Hepworth

5 out of 5 stars I would like to thank Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for allowing me to read an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I have only read a couple Sally Hepworth novels but I have enjoyed the ones that I have read so I was excited to be able to read and review The Soulmate. I ended up enjoying this book even more than the others.  Imagine buying a home and then finding out that the cliff the house is on is a favorite spot where people go to end their lives. Lucky for for you your husband has a way with people and he has been able to just listen to the people and calm them down enough to turn around and get help..... that is until he isn't able to. If you think things can't get worse, they can as it turns out both Pippa and her husband know the woman. Pippa can feel that something isn't right but she doesn't want to believe that her husband Gabe could have anything to do with it.  Told in two POV's by the fantastic narrators Barrie Kreinik and ...

~Death at Whitechapel by Robin Paige

4 1/2 out of 5 stars Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for allowing me to listen to an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I have been interested in Jack the Ripper for as long as I can remember. I always found the case to be fascinating and the theories even moreso. This has some really interesting theories. I have never read a Kathryn Ardleigh mystery before but I really enjoyed this and will pick up more in the future. I also enjoyed the way actual people in history were used in this. We had Winston Churchhill and his Mother Jennie.

The Marriage Counselor by Dea Poirier

5 out of 5 stars  Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for allowing me to listen to an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book! The twists and turns that it took were really fun. Adele, though not always a lovable character was a really interesting and fun one. I enjoyed seeing the world through her eyes. In fact, even the blurb is from her POV. When Adele's husband goes missing she finds out that she never really knew him at all. As we go through Adele's search to discover what happened to her husband or where he is secrets get uncovered and lives get destroyed. Stephanie Cannon is an absolutely amazing narrator whom I was very impressed by. I can't wait to listen to more books narrated by her and I can't wait to read more by Dee Poirier.

~We're All Lying by Maria Still

3.5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review. It seems like  Cass has the perfect life, a great job and  a handsome husband  but she has secrets she keeps from everyone. She is not the only one it seems, her husband has a few and one of them just sent her an email. Cass has no idea who her husband is having an affair with or how long. All she does know is that the woman has long dark hair. Shortly after the email Cass starts being stalked.  I listened to the audio book and I thought that it was really well written and I really enjoyed to of the narrators but I did not  care for the narrator for Cass. Her reading was robotic and that is why I knocked off half a star.
