~*IT by Stephen King*~
I have been a Stephen King fan since I was a kid. The first novel of his that I remember reading was "Christine" when I was in fifth grade. If I had to pick a favorite King novel I would be pressed to choose between "The Stand" and "IT". I guess "IT" is the winner since for years I never skipped a Summer without reading it until recently. I remember the first time that I read this novel I was walking home and it was raining. I carefully avoided any sewer drains!
This is more than a horror story even though it is an excellent horror novel. It is about love and friendship. The deep bond that is formed between friends when you are children is special. This book always felt almost like a fairy tale. I know that is probably what many would not categorize this as but don't most fairy tales read like horror stories for children?
If you have somehow skipped out on this novel and have only seen the movies (both are great BTW) you really need to pick this up. Is it long? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes, it is. Be prepared to laugh and cry and also get scared!
