Overgrowth by Mira Gant

4.9 stars Thank you to Netgalley and  Macmillan Audio for an advanced copy of this Mira Grant wrote of my  favorite horror books that I reread every single Summer, Into The Drowning Deep which is a fantastic dark mermaid tale. It is very hard to find dark mermaids. She did it again with aliens this time. One afternoon toddler Stasia goes into the dark woods and when she returns she insists on telling everyone that crosses her path that she is an alien in human form. She tells them that someday they will come for her and one day they do. Lets just say that this is not a great family reunion.

Parents Weekend by Alex Finlay

4 stars Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio I have become a real fan of Alex Finlay, they know how to write a really engaging thriller. I kind of just let the books take me away,(a lot like Calgon!). A group of parents converge on a university for Parents Weekend that starts with a dead student and the sudden disappearance of a group of students.

Meet Me at the Crossroads by Megan Giddings

3.5 stars   Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Audio for allowing me to listen to an advanced copy of this book One day seven doors appear, no one  knows where they came from or exactly where they go because when they open it is always different. One of these doors opens up in a smallish town in Michigan. Twins Ayanna and Olivia go through the door one day  but only Ayanna returns.  This is where the story really starts and turns into a story of grief and trauma. A story of four life long friends. I would say that the is a speculative fiction story more so than a fantasy, the doors are more of a plot device than a main storyline.

The Haunting of Room 904 by Erika T. Wurth

4 out of 5 Stars Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review Years ago paranormal investigator Olivia Becente's younger sister Naiche diapered in the Brown Hotel during an investigation. Years later their Mother decides to go to the same hotel room that Naiche disappeared from. In order to save her Mother Olivia must confront her demons and go to the room. This was a fun and spooky story that kept me on the edge of my seat. The narrator was great and the story well written

Fatality at the Festival by Beth Dolgner

4.25 stars out of 5 Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to review this This was just what I was looking for. A cute, fun paranormal mystery  filled with all kinds of interesting and magical creatures.  I really enjoyed this narrator, she did a fantastic job being the voice of Olivia Kendrick. I love the town of Nightmare and would love to live there.

Their Monstrous Hearts by YiÄŸit Turhan

3 1/2 out of 5 stars Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review. Ricardo is a struggling writer looking for his big break when he gets news that  his grandmother, Perihan   has passed away and left him her money and estate in Milan.  This is his chance to find out more about the Grandmother that took care of after his Mother abandoned him. Alone in the Gothic estate he feels like the estate is alive, whispering to him and then he finds a diary that belonged to  Perihan and there he begins to unravel all the secrets of his family that he never knew. What he finds changes his life forever. This is beautifully Gothic tale with a bang of an ending. I wish I could give this a higher rating but there was just something that didn't hit right but I have no idea why. Still a fantastic read!
