After the Forest by Kell Woods

5 out of 5 stars  Thank you to Macmillan Audio and Netgalley for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review. I have been a fan of fairytale retellings ever since I picked Beauty by Robin McKinley and fell in love. When I saw "After the Forest" on netgalley I knew that I had to read it! I am so glad that I was able to. This is a beautiful retelling of Hansel and Gretel with a blend of Snow White and Rose Red thrown in as well.. What happened after they escaped the nightmare of the terrible witch and gingerbread cottage? Let's just say that things were not smooth sailing. A blend of a beautiful romance, a great villain and some adventure thrown in, this was everything I was hoping for!

The Deadlands: Trapped by Skye Melki-Wegner

5 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for allowing me to listen to this in exchange for an honest review. Why are more people not talking about this amazing series? I have been obsessed with dinosaurs since I was a kid so when the first book in this series was available to read on Netgalley I jumped at the chance! Imagine how happy I was when I got to the end of the book and read that there is another book coming out in the fourth quarter!  I am loving this series so much. I adore Ellery and the gang, they are so brave and the friendships between them are amazing. What I love about this is that there are amazing relationships, exciting action and political intrigue. This and the first in the series will be in my top 10 books of this year! If any of the things I mentioned in this review interests you please pick this up. I truly believe that you will love this.

The Good SIster by Sally Hepworth

4 out of 5 stars I would say that this is definitely  more of a family drama with a thriller aspect but it really kept my interest.  What I always enjoy about a Hepworth novel is that her characters are always so relatable. I find that even if the characters have made bad choices you still tend to root for them. I loved the sisterly relationship.

The Woods Are Waiting by Katherine Greene

5 out of 5 stars Thanks to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review. When Cheyenne Ashby returns to the small Appalachian town her family has lived in for generations she finds that she can't escape her past and the secrets it holds so well. Cheyenne doesn't want to return to her hometown that she left in such a hurry or the Mother she fled from but she has no choice when her Father figure calls her and tells her she is needed. Three missing children, folk lore, old friends and lost love all weave into a captivating and dark tale. Angie Hickman was an absolutely wonderful narrator.

Dark Corners by Megan Goldin

4.5 out of 5 stars I love the books that have podcast segments so this was right up my alley. I have read the first book in this series and I really enjoyed this so I was glad to read this. As I said I enjoyed Rachel Krall in Night Swim and this was just as good as that. I enjoyed learning more about Rachel and the influencer story was very engaging.  I also enjoyed seeing Rachel involved in the beginning of a relationship with someone that was very well suited for her. The narration by Andre Santana, January Lavoy and Samantha Dez was fantastic.

Cutting Teeth by Chandler Baker

4.5 out of 5 stars  Thanks to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for allowing me to read this. I read The Whisper Network a few years ago and I really liked it so I was excited to be able to read this....and I loved it! It is a well known fact that kids are creepy, especially little ones (I am not the only one, right? Right?) and this really takes the that to the next level. What would you do if you kid starts craving blood? The answer it seems is to feed it yours. From there the story really starts picking up steam. A teacher at the preschool is found dead. Could it be the kids or a parent? I loved the writing in this and the story. If you like suburban thrillers/mysteries this will be right up your alley.  I really enjoyed Chandler Baker and January Lavoy,

Bookshops and Bonedust by Travis Baldree

5 out of 5 stars  Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for allowing me to read an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review I loved this so much. I actually think I may love this book a little bit more than Legends and Lattes because of the epilogue which was amazing.  Viv ends up getting hurt during a job so she needs rest and relaxation so she ends up staying in a cozy, little seaside town.  There she discovers a lovely book store owned by a sweet Ratkin with a filthy mouth named Fern, a lovely dwarf baker and a battle ready gnome. The town of Murk is super cute and Viv falling in love with books was everything. Travis Baldree once again narrated and he is a great narrator.
