An Evil Heart by Linda Castillo

4.5 out of 5 stars Thanks to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for allowing me to read a copy i n exchange for an honest review. This was my first Kate Burkholder and the 15th in the series but I can say that it didn't feel at all like it was that far into the series. You can totally read this without any having read any of the others and not be lost.  I loved the town of Painter's Mill and most of the people in it. The mystery was well written and even though it was extremely dark it still managed to feel kind of cozy. Kathleen McInerney  is a really good narrator.

Thornhedge by T. Kingfisher

5 out of 5 stars if I could I would give it more! Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review. I have become such a fan T. Kingfisher and this novel really made me an even bigger fan. First let me start by saying that Jennifer Blom was a fantastic narrator. She in encaptured  Toadling perfectly. Also has there ever been a such a sweet little cinnamon roll as Toadling? I personally don't think so. I am fan of Beauty and the Beast retellings and I have to say that this may be the best one I have ever read. You know how cozy fantasy has really become a thing? Well, this is a perfect cozy fantasy book.

Night's Edge by Liz Kerin

5 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for allowing me to read a copy in exchange for an honest review. Mia's life has never been the same since her mother went through a change her life has never been the same. Living in the dark, being chained to her mother she walks in to worlds. This is a beautiful, dark and haunting story. I wish that the next novel was coming out tomorrow! That is how much I loved it.

Silver Nitrate By Silvia Moreno-Garcia

5 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Random House for allowing me to read a copy in exchange for an honest review. I have been a fan of Silvia Moreno-Garcia since I read Gods of Jade and Shadow. This novel did not let me down in the least. She wove a wonderful story of mystery and horror. I will say this starts out kind of slow but but that is Moreno-Garcia's writing style. I loved the slow burn and when the novel picks up it goes into hard drive.  I think that everyone who loves horror will love this.

The Perfect Girlfriend by Hayley Smith

3  out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to listen to this in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed the narrator Katie Villa as she did a wonderful job.  The novel it's was kind of confusing. It is not that I didn't understand the story but I did feel that for a character that was supposed to be smart Lauren really didn't seem to be all that smart. I felt like there was a lot of plot armor. That being said it is a fun mystery if you don't take it too seriously.

Memories of You by Brooke Harris

4 out of 5 stars Every year Tabitha makes 12 resolutions and every year she never gets passed two or three but she decides that this year she will do every one of them. After a tragedy happens she decides to give up completely until her sister Avery rides in to save the day with an idea. She will send Tabby a new resolution every month and Tabby must do them. This sends Tabby into a journey of self discovery. I really enjoyed the characters, especially Avery who was such a breath of fresh air. The writing is great and I love an Irish story.

~*Painted Devils by Margaret Owen

3.5 out of 5 stars  Thank you to the publisher, Macmillan Audio and Netgalley for allowing me to listen to a copy in exchange for an honest review.  I did enjoy this book but for me it kind of relied a little bit too much on the tropes. One of if not my least favorite trope is miscommunication and it was used in this. I loved the writing and the world building was amazing though. I also really enjoyed the narrator Saskia Maarleveld. They did an amazing job.
