Sadie is not thrilled with leaving Chicago but what can they do? Her son has been expelled from his school, she has had issues with work and her husband has recently had an affair. So they pack up and move. The problem is that the Main island is small and everyone seems to know everyone. It also doesn't help that Imogene seems very hostile towards Sadie no matter what she does.  Things that go from bad to worse when the woman down the street is murdered and the police keep stopping by and asking Sadie questions. While most of us would only dream of getting revenge on the "golden boys"  that attacked us Elle and her besties whom she calls her coven decide to actually get the revenge we all would want. After telling her parents about her rape Elle tells them she needs revenge and she asks them to help her.  First she needs to become Jade, second she needs to get into St. Andrews Prep by Monday. It doesn't hurt that her Father is a big deal deal in L.A. and gets her in right away. You will need trigger warnings if sexual assault and violence bother you. Veterinarian  Cassie Larkin is driving home from work one night when she sees a man assaulting a woman on the side of the road. Feeling like she has no choice but to help Cassie pulls over, gets out of her car and tries to help the woman. When the man sees her he tells her to go away. That he has no plans to hurt her but Cassie does all she can to stop him, including calling the police and getting closer. When the man escapes he takes her van. 5 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Thomas & Mercer for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review. I have been reading Tracy Crosswhite novels since the first one came out. I immediately fell in love with Tracy, Dan, Faz and the rest of the great cast of characters and have never missed a single entry in the series. In this one Tracy, her husband Dan and their baby daughter Daniella are staying in their home town of Cedar Grove while they are waiting for their home in Seattle to be remodeled.  When the former chief of police asks Tracy to help him clear the name of the current chief. Though Tracy loves spending time with her baby part of her is missing work. There is also the fact that part of the case involves the murder of her dead sister Sarah's friend who was found dead just months before Sarah disappeared.  Once again Tracy uncovers the dark side of Cedar Cove.

4 1/2 out of 5 stars First off I would like to thank NetGalley and HarperCollins Publishers for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this novel to read in echange for an honest review. I have to admit that this is only the second book that I have read by Sarah Pinborough and I was not blown away by that novel. I am happy to say that I really, really liked "Dead to Her"!   Marcie Maddox and her husband Jason really are not thrilled with having to go to the party that Jason's boss William is throwing for his new English bride. When Keisha makes her grand interest Marcie is rather shocked at first. Keisha is beautiful, sexy,young and black. Marcie can't help but wonder how the high society of Savannah will react to all all this and then she glances at her husband.  She catches Jason staring at Keisha,practically salivating as he looks at her. Marcie, who until Keisha arrived was the young, sexy second wife. She felt as if she was finally starting to get accepted...

Thanks to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Fire  I thought that the first part of this novel took a really interesting and unique approach. It is told through different POVs with no names so you may be following The Girlfriend, The Popular Girl, The Burn Out and so on. That really pulled me into the story.  "What Kind of Girl" tackles some very hard topics and does a pretty good job with most of them.  This is kind of a hard book to review without giving too much away so I will try my best to just discuss the main story which is really the lynch pin of the book anyway. One Spring morning a teen girl goes to the principal to report that her boyfriend has been abusing her. She is embarrassed and confused. She doesn't know what to do but she remembered as a kid that you were supposed to tell someone if you were being hurt.  Eventually we do actually find out who is is and I think it actually came at the proper time in the book for me.
