5 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin Audio for allowing me to listen to this in advance for an honest review. A Magic Deep and Drowning is a Little Mermaid gender swap re-telling. I found the story to be really well written and I did find the narrator , Lauren Ezzo to be very talented.  Clara van Wieren comes across a beached whale one day on a trip to town. While many people in town are just thinking of the riches they can make off of it's corpse Clara feels a deep sympathy for the poor creature. On the same day her parents inform her that she is to be married to a very wealthy man. She also meets a sweet, funny  man.  This man she falls in love with at first glance. What she find is a curse. When the truth comes out Clara must decide if she will be willing to give up on everything to be with the man of her dreams.

Little Ghosts by Greg Dunnett

4.95 out of 5 A beautiful, disturbing, and haunting  ghost story.  Two years after Layla kidnapped from a family outing at the beach she returns to visit her younger brother Gale. The only thing is that Layla returns as a ghost. I will give trigger warnings of rape, kidnapping and child death. The story gets very dark without getting too graphic.  Let me just say that I did spend a good amount of time crying

Hot Hex Boyfriend by Carly Bloom

5 out of 5 stars Thank you to netgalley and the publishers I will say I kind of grade romance differently from say, a mystery. This was definitely a super fun and cute mystery. I liked the magical premise and the setting. All of the characters were fun and the couple was very easy to root for.

The Sublet by Greer Hendricks

4 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers It has been a long time since we had a Greer Hendricks book. I keep hoping for more from her and her writing partner but I fear we will not get anymore. For that reason I was super happy to get something new from her. I really enjoyed this. Ghostwriter Anne was offered the chance to ghostwrite Melody Wells (health and lifestyle guru) as Anne falls deeper under Melody's spell Anne begins to work longer and longer hours, following Melody's advice and taking her supplements. When Anne mentions to that she her husband and their twins are cramped in a tiny  Manhattan apartment Melody mentions she that she knows of  a sublet Anne jumps at the chance. Lets just say things don't go swimmingly.

Overgrowth by Mira Gant

4.9 stars Thank you to Netgalley and  Macmillan Audio for an advanced copy of this Mira Grant wrote of my  favorite horror books that I reread every single Summer, Into The Drowning Deep which is a fantastic dark mermaid tale. It is very hard to find dark mermaids. She did it again with aliens this time. One afternoon toddler Stasia goes into the dark woods and when she returns she insists on telling everyone that crosses her path that she is an alien in human form. She tells them that someday they will come for her and one day they do. Lets just say that this is not a great family reunion.

Parents Weekend by Alex Finlay

4 stars Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio I have become a real fan of Alex Finlay, they know how to write a really engaging thriller. I kind of just let the books take me away,(a lot like Calgon!). A group of parents converge on a university for Parents Weekend that starts with a dead student and the sudden disappearance of a group of students.

Meet Me at the Crossroads by Megan Giddings

3.5 stars   Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Audio for allowing me to listen to an advanced copy of this book One day seven doors appear, no one  knows where they came from or exactly where they go because when they open it is always different. One of these doors opens up in a smallish town in Michigan. Twins Ayanna and Olivia go through the door one day  but only Ayanna returns.  This is where the story really starts and turns into a story of grief and trauma. A story of four life long friends. I would say that the is a speculative fiction story more so than a fantasy, the doors are more of a plot device than a main storyline.

Their Monstrous Hearts by YiÄŸit Turhan

3 1/2 out of 5 stars Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review. Ricardo is a struggling writer looking for his big break when he gets news that  his grandmother, Perihan   has passed away and left him her money and estate in Milan.  This is his chance to find out more about the Grandmother that took care of after his Mother abandoned him. Alone in the Gothic estate he feels like the estate is alive, whispering to him and then he finds a diary that belonged to  Perihan and there he begins to unravel all the secrets of his family that he never knew. What he finds changes his life forever. This is beautifully Gothic tale with a bang of an ending. I wish I could give this a higher rating but there was just something that didn't hit right but I have no idea why. Still a fantastic read!

5 out of 5 stars Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for a honest review. Marin James has one thing on her mind  and that is revenge for her cousin who supposedly died of an overdose but Marin know better than that. She knows that one of the three  before her is responsible . That is why she chose to become Jamie Vain and scammed her way into this elite academy.   I loved how dark, gothic and full of angst this was. Howell weaves a fantastic story of obsession, revenge  and a twisted kind of love.

Close Your Eyes and Count to Ten by Lisa Unger

5 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I love a good Lisa Unger book and this was definitely good. I was thrilled to see this on Netgalley.  Single Mom Adele has been struggling to raise her sone and daughter alone ever since her now ex husband Miller abandoned her and the kids. That Last Hamilton by Jenn Bregman

5 stars  Thank you to netgalley for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.  A quick, fun and twisty read with an historic edge. I loved the idea of a secret  society that was started  by Alexander Hamilton. This would be a fun series and I really hope it happens.

Good Bad Mother by Anya Mora

4 out of 5 stars I'd like to thank netgalley and Bookouture for providing me with the ARC for Good Bad Mother by Anya Mora. Told in different timelines,  Amelia a new Mother is having a rough time.  She hardly ever gets to see her husband who is always working as a cop. His Mother is breathing down her neck and she feels like she can never do anything right. The gaslighting that she receives is disgusting and I have not had a character that I hate as much as him in a long time. This is a thrilling novel.

Nothing Ever Happens Here by Seraphina Nova Glass

4 1/2 out of 5 stars This is told in three different POVs, Shelby, Mack, and Florence. In a quiet town where "Nothing ever happens" something actually does happen. I loved the senior citizen voices. I loved the fact that they had a podcast. I would totally read another book if this were to become a series. I am really enjoying reading books that have fun and entertaining older characters.
