~*After She Wrote Him by Sulari Gentill*~

4 out of 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the digital ARC I received in exchange for an honest review. Madeleine  d'Leon  is a successful cozy mystery writer. Her Veronica Killwilly series is sch a hit she is in talks about turning it into a television series.  She is bored with it though so she sets out to start a ew mystery. The more she writes about Edward McGinnity the more real he becomes to her, in fact he begins to take on a life of his own. I really enjoyed this novel and thought it would be a five star novel until the end. Now, just because I found the ending to be lacking the amount of satisfaction I was looking for I do believe that many will enjoy the whole book  and will love the ending. It just wasn't my cup of tea, This is sooooooo worth a read! This is not just a mystery but a bit of love story as well.

4.5 out of 5 stars I want to thank Netgalley and St.Martins Press for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. When I requested this book I didn't realize it was part of a series but it didn't affect the story for me at all.  It was easy to get to know the characters and before I was done I felt like I had known them forever!  In 1952 the first victim was found in a dress she didn't own, in full make up but without shoes and her purse. The second victim appeared in 1972 and now the latest has been found. When Russ Van Alstyne is called to the body of a woman with the same MO in modern day he knows he must work fast as he was accused of the murder of the young woman back in 1972 when he was a young Vietnam vet. With the help of Clare Fergusson and his police department he sets out to solve a crime that may be his most personal to date. I will be picking up the first books in the series because the writing is cinematic, I co...

This is a heart breaking, moving story about the aftermath of a tragedy that has become all too common in America.  May and Zach are dealing with the aftermath of a school shooting from two different angles. May survived a school shooting at Carter High School. She was in the closet of her band room when the shooter came in and killed nine people that were in the room including her twin brother Jordan. She is suffering from Survivor's Guilt. How come she survived? She is confused, scared and depressed. It also doesn't help that her family is falling apart. For so long everything was built around her talented brother and with him gone no one knows what to do. For Zach it is different. He didn't go to Carter so he wasn't there when the shooting happened. Instead  he is trying to deal with the hate he is getting every d...

~*The Secrets They Left Behind by Lissa Marie Redmond*~

4 out of 5 stars I would like to thank Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review. During Christmas break three girls disappear from one of their homes with no trace. There were no signs of struggle and their phones and purses are left behind. Kelly Falls may seem like the perfect small town but something is wrong.  It has been three months and no new news on where the girls could be. Twenty three year old patrol officer Shea O'connor is still trying to recover from the last time she went undercover at the local high school to catch a serial killer. She is not sure that she wants to go undercover at Kelly Falls community college to get to know some of the missing girl's friends in hope that she can find out what was going on in their lives before they disappeared.  I really enjoyed this novel but I find it kind of hard to describe. It is an adult mystery but because Shea was with teenagers t...
