The Missing Sister by Elle Marr

4 1/2 out of 5 stars When Shayna Darby gets an e-mail from her twin sister Angela's  boyfriend Seb in Paris that she was missing she ignores it at first. She and Angela have not spoken in three years since their parents died in a car accident.  Then she gets another e-mail  from Seb and this one tells her that the police believe Angela is dead after a shooting at the Sorbonne. It seems that Angela was abducted during the chaos of the shooting and that she was killed shortly after so Shayna hops on a plane in order to find out what happened to her sister. Paris was most definitely a main character in this novel and that was one if my favorite parts. I have always had an interest in the catacombs  so I really loved that, It was also kind of cool to see the not so romantic side of Paris.  In some ways Shayna's journey to find her sister felt like Alice in Wonderland.  I  would like to add that it was nice to have a mixed race main character. It will b...

~*Unfollow Me by Charlotte Duckworth*~

5 out of 5 stars  Thank you to Crooked Lane Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. When Youtube influencer Violet is Blue shuts down all of her social media accounts and her successful channel many of her followers are confused and lost by her sudden disappearance. What could have happened to her? Is she okay?  Her husband Henry has posted a few times but barely at all. For Lily and Yvonne the disappearance of Violet has become a bit of an obsession.  Each woman begins to start her own investigation into what happened to Violet. Funny, twisted and fresh! This book was so much fun to read even though there were some really messed up characters. I will admit that I like to Youtube videos and I have totally seen some fans that have become a bit obsessive so that made this book even more interesting.  Both Yvonne and Lily are interesting characters and you may find your allegiance changing as the ...

~*A Good Neighborhood by Therese Anne Fowler *~

5 out of 5 stars Thank you to NetGalley and St.Martins Press for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Where to start? How can I describe How much this book moved me? It is hard to put down in words. This was such a special book told in such and unique and personal way. The story is told from the other various neighbor's POV. Two young lovers meet when  Juniper's family moves into the house that her step Father had built right behind Xavier and his mother's house. From the moment they set eyes on one another it is love. The issue? Juniper is white and Xavier is bi-racial. What's the big deal? You may ask yourself that, after all the year is 2020. The problem is that there are still ugly people that judge people by the color of their skin. There is also the problem with Juniper's step Father Brad and Xavier's Mother Valerie. Valerie didn't care for Brad from the start. It could have been that he immediately ...

I am a huge fan of Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen as a writing team! I was thrilled to be able to read this early! Shay Miller lives a lonely life and she feels as if she is at a crossroads. She shares an apartment with her friend who she has a  secret crush on but he has a girlfriend. She lost her job and has a job as a temp and she barely see her best friend because she has a busy life with her new baby. One hot August morning as she is waiting for the subway she noticed a pretty young woman in a dress with polka dots moving closer and closer to the edge of the platform. Before she knows the woman has jumped in front of the train. Of course Shay is shocked but there is more to it...

After her parents died and she left college to  take care of things it just made sense for her to become a British  Sign Language Interpreter. After all she served as an interpreter for her family most of her life anyway. Shortly after she became self employed she is called very early in the morning by the police who need her services because a murder has taken place in a deaf house. When Paige arrives however she realizes that she has a closer connection to the family than she expected. Her sister Anna's best friend Laura's 18 month old daughter was murdered while she and her brother were staying with their Father.
